Little things
Trying to remember to update little things:
-Marshall weighed in at 17kg (37.4 lbs) Feb 14th.
-He no longer needs the potty seat or a stool to use the bathroom. He pees standing up now. He refuses to use the stool to wash his hands or brush his teeth now because he’s tall enough (barely!).
-We put a little mirror up in the main floor bathroom (under the big peoples’ mirror) because he wants to see himself to “wash his face” with wet kleenex for some reason. (and without using the stool)
-He refuses to try blowing his nose.
-He knows a lot of colours in french now, and body parts.
-He makes up stories and sings songs we don’t know.
-He is practicing showing 2 on his fingers (like the peace sign) and is now able to do it by himself. next: 3. I told him he just has to keep practicing.
-He has asked how Baby Ella got in my belly. I think I did a pretty good job without lying. I told him Daddy planted a seed there and it grew like in the garden. He thought this was quite amusing and asked if it tickled. I admitted that it did
I may have posted this tidbit before, I can’t remember… I may have also told him that I was going to the hospital so they could take her out, I’m not sure.
-recently he must have been thinking about this bit of info because he asked how I was going to put my belly back together after they take her out. I explained that actually, I was going to push her out, like he pushes out a poop. (pretty accurate
) Unfortunately, he was more curious and wanted to know where that was going to happen. So I told him (not really a lie but not really too graphic at the same time) that I have a special baby tunnel that I will push her out of. Once again, not enough info for this kid. He wanted to know where the tunnel was and if he could see it. Um, well…. you will be relieved to know that I told him where it was but that it was private and no he could not see it. *L* I think he’s a bit too young for the whole birds and the bees story, but yet I don’t want him to think some stork arrives either…
-He has a really good memory now. In the morning one day he asked Rick what Jorja’s mother’s name was, and he didn’t know so he said “you’ll have to ask Mommy when she picks you up”. I didn’t know about this, so I was surprised when I arrived to pick him up and the first thing he asked was “What’s Jorja’s mother’s name mommy?” which I thought was weird because they were nowhere to be seen… found out the whole story later.
-Rick told Marshall on Tuesday that the Church was selling pancakes and would he be interested in having pancakes for supper? (he loves pancakes) … Marshall proceeded to tell Rick that there was no way that a church was selling pancakes because they don’t sell pancakes daddy don’t be so silly etc etc. No amount of explaining or convincing would do. When we picked him up, Rick asked him if he’d like to go to the church to see if they were selling pancakes and he did. So we had a pancake supper and Marshall charmed all the seniors that we were dining with.
-Marshall is well-liked in his class by both the teachers and the other children. Whenever I arrive, everyone starts “Maaaarshall! Maaaarshall!” He seems to be quite popular. Also, he’s a lot like me because he tells everyone what to do/not to do apparently. The teachers said he’d make a good policeman.
-Marshall would like to be a firefighter when he grows up and “put fire on things and water too” (or something like that *L*)
-He loves Animal Mechanicals but since the CBC NB is so idiotic, we can’t watch it through the week anymore, we can only see it on the weekends. CBC NB decided to put Terry Seguin on the radio on our tv for us so we can SEE him reading the news in the radio studio. And they put up a bunch of annoying pictures of places and scrolly newsbits and such. Not impressed. So we started watching Benjamin Bear and Spongebob together in the mornings before coming downstairs (depending on how early we’re up).
