Quick update
I decided to take a little break at work to make a quick update.
We had a great weekend with Marshall (as usual). We were outside most of the weekend because the weather was amazing! The Dragon Boat Festival was held on the lake again this weekend, which meant that our neighbourhood was filled with people!
Friday night we stopped at the Bessborough playground on the way home then had hotdogs, poutine, smoothies and cotton candy at the festival concessions a block from our house. Then I went and had my graduation pedicure that I was saving since December (thanks mom!).
Saturday I got up early and ran to the Y with my friend (about a 5 minute run) and did the Group Power class. Arrived home and went out again with Rick and Marshall to walk down to Sobeys, stopping at yardsales along the way and a bbq at the shoe store. Marshall didn’t feel like napping, maybe because there was too much excitement. Rick and I went to a wine tasting/mixer Saturday night and our neighbours babysat for us.
Sunday we walked down to get the car downtown and met up with Grampy at Smitty’s – it was opening weekend. We had a nice long visit there as the food took forever. However, they told us when we arrived that it would be a long time, so we were ok with that. After a little playground time for Marshall, we went home for his nap.
Uncle Jamie arrived before he woke up and was Marshall ever excited to see him! The bros set up the 2 tents to air them out, put up some shelves and installed the air coniditioner, and Marshall and I went to pick up some things at the Superstore. We had birthday nachos for supper and there was pecan pie and chocolate cake for dessert. Then we went for a bike ride around the lake with Marshall in the trailer. He loves it.
Then we all laid down in the the tent together and looked at the clouds. And the birds. I love how he says birds. It sounds like “boooords”.
For some reason Marshall couldn’t sleep last night so although he was in bed at 830, it was 11pm before he finally dozed off.
He has been so hilarious lately. He has been singing “Do a Deer” on and off every day. One day we were blowing bubbles and I was trying to figure something out and I go “what the!” and he pipes up”HECK!” which threw me into a giggle fit. Where did he learn that!?
Last night I told him that we had to get up early this morning (why?) to take Grampy to work (why?) because he’s getting his car washed (why not go to a car wash?) on the inside (why?) and maybe buying a new truck (why?). [this is how many of our conversations go lately. *L* why why why?].
This morning his eyes flew open and he goes “Grampy’s coming over!” “Daddy! Grampy’s getting a new truck because his truck’s too dirty!” *giggle* yep.
Some other things:
He has started throwing fits of sorts. If he wants something he’ll go “RIGHT NOOOOOW!” (yelling) and when we still say no, he keep trying to say it louder. We have explained to him that volume does not accomplish a result.
He is still not terribly interested in the potty.
He is excited to go on an airplane to Calgary and see his auntie Stacey and uncle Cris and his cousins Diego and Sam!
Marshall told me yesterday that he has too many toys. You know, in case you’re thinking of buying him toys for his birthday. *LOL*
