It’s been a while since an update, and I just realized it! Marshall is sleeping in a little today, so good time to dash off a little update.
Marshall spent a weekend at his Gram’s which was a nice break for me and Rick, and Marshall and Gram had a great time. More of these visits to come, I hope!
He has been talking more and more all the time. Just the other day he said “thank you Stacey” without being promted when she gave him something. That was nice. He’s still a bit hard to understand sometimes though… but since we’re used to it, we can figure most things out. He likes to have books read in the “ocking chai” for example. He can clearly say “outside” though – one of his favourite things.
My sister Stacey flew in July 10th, so we’ve been having a nice visit with her. She kept Marshall at home yesterday and hung out. They had fun, then Grampy (I mean Bappy) came over and they got up to more giggling. Apparently Marshall had a poop and so dad called him poopydrawers. Then Marshall started giggling and calling dad “Bappy drawers” and running around and repeating. hehehe.
On sunday, we had a great visit with Jason Watson, Sophie, and kids Shelby and Tyler. Shelby’s 9 and Tyler’s turning 6 tomorrow! We had a great seafood feast of lobster, mussels, and bacon-wrapped scallops on the barbeque. The kids had fun playing together.
Last night we brought Marshall to the doctor since he had a bright red toe for a day or so and it didn’t seem to be going away. Turns out it’s some kind of infection or something that kids with his kind of flippy-up toenails get sometimes. It may be an ingrown nail since I just cut his nails last week
boo. We got some ointment though and the doctor was rather amusing. He called Marshall “dude!” when he came in. *giggle* and then mentioned that his kids got the same thing and it was “a pain in the ass er, I mean tush heheh sorry about that. ”
Today, auntie Stacey is bringing Marshall to Gram’s house for a few days to hang out!
We are anxious today because our neighbours Greg and Pam are in the hospital. Pamela was due on the 19th, so she’s close to her due date, but was in labour all day yesterday and was only 9cm near midnight last night…the epidural had been in at 2cm. The last word we got was that if she wasn’t ready by midnight they were going to “special care”… *crossing our fingers that all is well*
Well, I hear the little prince, so I’d better get moving!
