Hungry man
So on Thursday, Marshall started waking up through the night. This was not pleasant for us, since we’ve been used to him sleeping 8-9 hours a night. Thursday night he woke up at 4am, Friday night around the same. He was waking up starving. So Saturday we decided to try him on some rice cereal. That was fun (video and pics will be posted soon). But Saturday night he was even worse – he woke up at 2 and 4 and 6. Gah.
So we decided to hold off on the cereal for now. We think it might just be a growth spurt. Sure enough, he slept really well last night. It also had something to do with his naps I think. For the last few days, his naps were only 45 minutes, where he usually has at least one 2 hour nap. Yesterday he had a nice long 2 hour nap in the morning and last night slept really well. So we might be on to something. *L*
Saturday, I took him out for a little walk to get some fresh air (thought that might help) and to get me a little exercise. Then we headed to the Penhorn Mall to pick up a few things. We ran into Santa Claus! Marshall was really overtired, so we couldn’t get him to smile, but he wasn’t upset about it either, so I got the picture. *L* The santa was a bit creepy though. He wanted to give me some grandfatherly advice. Only it wasn’t much for advice. He basically told me not to worry about him until he asks for the car keys hahaha.
Marshall has really been enjoying his Jolly Jumper. He’s figured out how to jump in it instead of just tottering around. He’s getting the hang of it! We try to spend a little time in it every day – and I use the elliptical machine at the same time. He finds that quite fascinating.
He has also been practicing his vocal chords. We think he kind of forgot about it for a while because a couple of weeks ago, he was making these “baby teridactyl” noises and then he stopped for a while. He’s back at it again, louder than ever. Hee! he screeches at his toys and gurgles. It’s hilarious. Who needs cable?

When our kids got to be 3 months old (or there abouts), we started giving them a spoonful of Barley cereal in the morning. We didn’t have much success with the rice cereals. It tended to constipate them pretty bad.
